Briar Cliff University
in Sioux City, just 5 miles north, is four-year liberal arts school
offering pre-professional programs.
Morningside College
in Sioux City, 5 miles east, is a private four-year liberal arts
school affiliated with the United Methodist Church. There more than
40 majors offered, many leading to Bachelor of Arts of Bachelor of
Science degrees. Other degree programs include bachelor’s degrees in
nursing, music and music education, and a master of arts degree in
teaching. A cooperative Master’s in Business Administration program
with the University of South Dakota is also available.
Northeast Community
College offers continuing
education and distance learning in South Sioux City, providing adult
education as well as other community services. Choosing from more
than 80 technical, vocational, business and liberal arts programs,
students prepare to enter the workforce or to go on to a four-year
college or university.
St. Luke’s
College of Nursing and School of Radiologic Technology
offer specialized training for nursing and health-science careers.
Tri-State Graduate Center,
a consortium of colleges and universities in Iowa, Nebraska and
South Dakota that offers 41 graduate degree programs and 201
graduate level courses.
Wayne State College, located in
nearby Wayne, Nebraska, is a comprehensive institution of higher

Western Iowa Tech Community College,
5 miles east in Sioux City, offers a two-year associate of arts
degree program. Adult basic and continuing education courses provide
learning and fun. Specially designed training programs tailored to
meet the requirements of individuals and businesses are also
