Nebraska has a population of more than 1.5 million. As part of the Greater Siouxland area, South Sioux City and Dakota City are the strength of Dakota County. Since 1990, South Sioux City has grown at a rate (23%) more than twice as fast as the entire state of Nebraska. There are five villages in the county: Hubbard, Homer, Jackson, Willis and Emerson.
